Hi again,
Apologies for writing twice in a day, but thought it best to keep the 2 things separate. The British Open competition this year will be held at Kidbrooke in London on Sunday 18th November. If you are interested in taking part, please take a look at the information sheet attached, let me know what events you want to take part in and also who your kata partner is.
Whilst the British Open is open to everyone, I personally recommend dojo members are a minimum of 3rd kyu before taking part in randori.
I will be sending off the dojo registration form on Thursday 8th November so you have until then to let me know if you want to enter.
If there are any questions/queries let me know.
James
P.S. On a different note, Hyper Japan is taking place in London the same weekend as the Open. Hyper Japan Saturday and British Open Sunday? https://hyperjapan.co.uk/

FW: Short Fight Film Audition Invitation and squad training
Hello all,
Please see the forwarded email below.
Also note that SAUK Squad is this Saturday at the York railway institute, as normal. I will be away for about 11 days and will not have direct access to the internet or my emails, so please send any queries to James Ang in my absence.
Kind regards,
Kat 😊
Happy Halloween!

Re: The British Open - London - 18/11/2018
Good morning,
I just noticed a small error in my e-mail last night. The British Open is on the 18th November and not October (of course). Apologies if there was any confusion.

Dojo Christmas Party
Good evening all,
Now that we are done with the annual halloween social, I would like to talk a bit about the next major dojo social event which will be the Christmas party and will be held at The Red Deer pub.
Date: Wednesday 12th December
Time: 19.30-onwards. Food to be served from 20.00
Location: The Red Deer Pub, Sheffield
Cost: £20/24 - 2 Courses/3 Courses
Like every year, the dojo Christmas party will be held immediately following the annual Christmas training session from 17.00-19.00. The Christmas party will be a 2 or 3 course meal, during which the uni club will present their end-of-year awards. There is a 25 person limit for the food and whilst it is probable that all these spaces will not be filled, the spaces are nonetheless on a first-come-first-served basis.
To confirm your booking with me:
- Please take a look at the menu (attached)
- Select what options you want. You can either choose 2 or 3 courses (£20 and £24). If you want 2 courses, choose either a starter and main, or a main and dessert
- Let me know what options you want.
- Pay me a £10 deposit. Either in person or online (message me for payment details)
The deadline for letting me know your options and deposit payments is Sunday 2nd December.
If you are unsure about whether to take the 2 or 3 course option, I recommend taking the 2 course as the portions have traditionally been very generous at this pub. If there are any questions/queries, please ask. I will be sending out further reminders about this event over the next month.
Regards,
James

Re: Dojo Halloween Bar Crawl
Good evening all,
This is just a quick reminder about tomorrow evening's bar crawl event. As I previously said, even though fancy dress would be fun, feel free to just turn up as normal if that is an issue. Saying that, my costume is going to be amazing. Believe it.
So meet at the Kelham Island tavern pub from 19.00 tomorrow. Best way to get there is probably via the tram to the Shalesmoor tramstop, then it's only a few minutes of walking from there. If there are any issues, please feel free to contact me on 07963151574 or FB.
See you all soon.

Subject: Dojo Halloween Bar Crawl
Hi everyone,
Halloween is nearly upon us and once again I am organising another pub crawl social for the occasion. With it being halloween, fancy dress is a given. Unlike recent years there are no specific dress themes, although the best dresser may find themselves winning a fantastic life-changing prize. Or not. Anyway, the details:
Date: Saturday 27th October
Time: Meet at 19.00 at the 1st pub (Kelham Island Tavern). Aiming to reach the Benjamin Hunstman sometime around 23.00
The route will be as follows:
- Kelham Island Tavern
- Shakespeares
- 3 Tuns
- Museum
- Benjamin Huntsman
- ? (Depends who is left and what they want to do from there.)
If you cannot make it for the start, feel free to contact me on 07963151574 to find out where we are.
Any questions/queries, let me know.
James
(P.s. if fancy dress is really an issue, feel free to forgo that and just come along anyway. You won't be in the running for that life-changing best-costume prize though...)
