Re: Dojo AGM - Wednesday 13/06/2018 19.30-Onwards

Good evening,

This is a last minute reminder about food for the dojo AGM next Wednesday. If you are planning on attending and want food (and haven't told me yet), please let me know latest tomorrow evening so I can let the Red Deer know food numbers. Please see my previous e-mail below for any further info etc.

Kind regards,

Good afternoon all,

Further to previous correspondence, the dojo AGM (Annual General Meeting) is now starting to appear on the horizon. The AGM will take place in the Red Deer pub meeting room (where it was also held last year) and will be from 19.30-onwards on Wednesday 13th June.

As always, this event is the opportunity to find out how the club is doing behind-the-scenes, general plans for the upcoming year and the re-election of the club committee. With regards to the club committee elections, attached with this e-mail are the committee roles that will be on offer during the meeting.

The challenge every year is getting enough people to fill the roles available so any and all help is welcome. If you fancy a particular role, chances are you can have it without any issues or objections.

Whilst not compulsary, there is a food buffet available for people at the meeting. Please see the attached menu for more information. It is £9.50 a person which you can pay on the day. We have to give numbers in advance for food, so if you want some, please let me know within the next week (deadline is Sunday evening 03/06/2018)

Any questions, let me know.

James

Dojoj Osoji Date Move 19/05/2018>20/05/2018

Good evening,

Following previous correspondence regarding the annual dojo clean (osoji), the date and time has been moved from tomorrow 14.00-16.00 (Saturday 19/05/2018) to the day after (Sunday 20/05/2018) at 14.00-16.00. Apologies for any inconvenience caused by this late notice.

If you have any time, please turn up to help. Even just for a bit would be much appreciated and better than nothing at all. It has been agreed the dojo will treat those who participate in the clean to coffee and cake afterwards as a small thank you.

Kind regards,

James

Re: Aikido Social 06/12/2018 - The Room Film Night

Hello all,

Quick, last minute reminder about this evening. If you are still unsure about going to see The Room, I do believe you can still buy tickets online (https://tickets.sheffieldstudentsunion.com/ents/event/12318/). Tickets should still be purchasable by this method. Once you buy online, you get e-mailed an e-ticket which you can show on the door without needing to print or go to the box office.

Me and Maggie will be at the University Arms Pub from 20.00 before heading on shortly before the event starts at 22.00. Feel free to turn up to this bit only, if you don't want to see the film. Finally, if you need me, my number is: 07963151574.

Subject: Aikido Social 06/12/2018 - The Room Film Night

Evening all,

It has come to my notice that the University of Sheffield is doing a film night this Sunday (06/12/2018) of the greatest worst film ever; The Room. The night will consist of a double billing of The Room and Greg Sestero & Tommy Wiseau's new film Best F(r)iends. Greg Sestero will also be turning up to this event for Q&As and autograph signing etc. The films will be showing from 22.00-03.00. It's a bank holiday on Monday so staying up late should hopefully not be too much of an issue.

As you probably gathered by now, I'm attempting to make an aikido social out of this event. So I'm thinking, lets turn up from around 20.00 at the University Arms pub, have a few drinks then spend the rest of the night watching "The Citizen Kane" of bad films. Feel free to turn up dressed as one of the characters from The Room too. I've got my Jonny/Tommy Wiseau costume sorted already (no joke).

Tickets cost £10 and can be bought from the students union. I have heard that tickets are selling fast so if you are going, try and get your tickets sorted soon. I'm going to be buying mine in the next day or so.

Conventional "Room" wisdom suggests that to get the most out of a public showing of The Room, it is best to have seen the movie beforehand. If you haven't seen it already, you can find it on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVn-xI9rKNA&has_verified=1 . Grab a friend and enjoy.

Let me know if you are interested in going.  For more information, the description of the event from the official facebook page is at the bottom of this e-mail. Also here's the link to the facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/events/145061696336065/152406762268225/?notif_t=admin_plan_mall_activity&notif_id=1525194929580364).

Regards,

James

"Put on your best red dresses, ill-fitting suits, and bring your roses as we present "The Citizen Kane" of bad films: The Room, back to back with Greg & Tommy's new film Best F(r)iends!

OH HAI MARK!
**We are also very excited to announce that GREG SESTERO will be joining us for Q&A, signings and more!**

Join us Bank Holiday Sunday May 6th at 10pm for the best worst experience ever. Experience the wonderfully bad and unconventional storyline that makes The Room somehow so popular. Don't worry if this is your first time, we'll provide the info so you know exactly when to shout, clap, or cry "You're tearing me apart Lisa!".

A bit more about The Room...
Johnny is a San Franciscan man who seems to have it all: a high-paying job as a banker, a bunch of friends--one of them being Mark, to whom he's the closest--and a beautiful fiancee named Lisa, whom he's been engaged to for seven years. From the outset, Johnny's got everything going for him...that is, until he faces the worst form of betrayal like, ever, and from then on everything begins to fall apart.

A bit more about Best F(r)iends…
When a drifter befriends a quirky mortician, an unlikely business partnership is formed. Paranoia soon develops, however, and both men are forced to come to terms with the fragility of friendship and loyalty.

THIS WILL BE A 18+ ONLY
