Saturday 21st April Shodokan Aikido UK Club Event (11-5pm)! This event is open to all, from beginner to advanced. Seminars, Demos, refereeing/Scoring course and kongodantaisen informal team competition. Of course, followed by a social!
Saturday 5th May (2-4.30pm) women-only seminar - open from 4th kyu and above. Building on from last seminar - more running, drills, circuit training, throwing the guys and rotations. Contact me to attend. 10 places only. We'll finish with a barbecue on the lotty.

And to finish, here's an article in Science on a study done in Brazil (Sao Paolo's University, School of Physical Education and Sport). The research team investigated the different metabolic systems used in judo sparring. I'd imagine that the same would apply to our aikido shiai. For me the following quote summed up the challenge the researchers faced: "Assessing metabolism during [such] activities is tricky: Judo can't be performed while standing in one place. And throwing people across the lab can make a mess." Obviously, the same applies to us!
