Aikido Marathon is back!

Dear Sheffield aikidoka, alumni and friends of the Steel City Aikido Club,

it is with mounting excitement and intense trepidation that I am writing toannounce that our world-famous (no less!) Aikido-Marathon is back!!!

"Aikido-Marathon, what is that?" I hear our new recruits say!  No, it doesn't involve running a marathon in an aiki-dogi or covering 20-odd miles in zenpokaiten ukemi ...although there might be a challenge or two there ;-)

No, it's simpler and - perhaps meaner - than that! The club is challenging its aikidoka - as well as our fellow aikidoka from UK clubs close and far - to join us and train 14 hours in one single day... that's right, we'll start training at 7am, in the dark, on Saturday 8th November, and will finish, in the dark, at 9pm.

We are supporting Médecins sans Frontières, aka Doctors  without Borders, for the work they do in Ebola-infected areas. We are raising funds via our justgiving page:
https://www.justgiving.com/account/teams/aikidomarathon2014

So why not asking your friends and family to support you in your  challenge!

I hope we'll see you at the Sheffield Kyogikan dojo on Saturday 8th November, for a day full of aikido...
