Dear all,
welcome to our new members Suey and Joe, and welcome back to the students who are due to start next week.
The timetable for city sessions will not change - for the first time ever - so come and join us on the mat Tuesday 7.30-9pm and Friday 6.30 to 8pm + 8-9pm classes for formal sessions.
Students classes for the first term will be Tuesday 5-6.30pm (NEW time!), Friday 5-6.30pm, and for the first term only Thursday 5-6.30pm. Mondays will be taught randori classes for the first term only. So if you are keen to get into the sport aspect of our martial art, nows the time to come training on Monday nights. This class is high-intensity, so only attend if you have a "bring it on!" attitude. We also have a class on Wednesday 5-7pm - 20minutes circuit-training followed by repetition training, a must for the intermediate student. Saturday morning is for advanced, nikyu and above. I will be starting Friday morning sessions from 12th October 7.30-9am, circuit to start with, followed by dan grade syllabus for a specific few. please enquire. You can only attend if you commit to do all sessions until Xmas. Come motivated or dont come at all. This being said, breakfasts never taste so good afterwards - ah Wetherspoons cooked breakfast! ;-)
From the second term, Thursdays will revert back to taught randori and Mondays the usual "fight club" style that we know and love.

- AikidoMarathon - Saturday 20th October. Our annual event challenging you to train 14 hours in one day!!! Short breaks of 5 minutes every hour keep you rehydrated and, more importantly, sane. This year, with your help, Id like to run it for a charity of your choice, so send your suggestions and reasons and we,ll vote on it. Training is GBP20 for students, 25 for City, with 5 pounds going to the charity. (Captains anyway of promoting this at your unions?) Well celebrate survival with food, your suggestions of a restaurant nearby the dojo welcome! ***To get the charity work underway, please send your suggestions by 5th October.***
Finally, a short word about Sam, Caspar and myself who have arrived today and joined big Joe in Osaka, Japan. We joined our first two session at the dojo, which should help us getting over the jetlag, if not a hangover from the drinks that ensued training! Start as you intend to go on! More news and pics soon, but I must go and hit the futon...
