This Weekend - 2016 UK Student Nationals

Good afternoon everybody,

As you may already know, the 2016 UK Student Nationals Competition is this weekend in Manchester. This is arguably the largest and best-attended annual aikido event in the country and will see some of the best university students fighting it out for the university-club and individual titles.

Most students from our dojo will be competing (from both the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam) and many non-students will be there to help run and organise the event. Speaking of which, more help running the event is always needed and appreciated (regardless of grade or ability), so feel free to come along if you have any spare time this weekend.

Now for a special announcement; the dojo has just purchased a minibus! It will be making it's first appearance this weekend to transport club members to and from the event, leaving the dojo at 7.30am Saturday and returning Sunday afternoon. If you would like a place on the minubus, please contact either Scott or Celine ASAP. Spaces are limited and first-come-first-served. It is £5 for a single or £10 for a return.

If you cannot make the minibus journey, transport by train is ideal. The sports centre is a short-ish walk from Manchester Picadilly station.

For more details - such as the event timetable and directions to the venue - go to the event page on facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/events/433679556829785/. Alternatively feel free to ask me.

Finally, normal Saturday classes at the dojo are cancelled this week due to most people being outside of Sheffield.

See you all soon!
James
