Hey everybody,
This is a last minute reminder about food for the AGM next week. If are planning on attending the AGM, want food but haven't told me yet, you've got until this evening to tell me what you want from the menu.
Thanks,
James

Subject: Upcoming Events And The Club AGM
Hello everybody,
The big event this month is the club AGM (Annual General Meeting) on Wednesday 17th May. Attendance is your chance to find out how the club is run behind-the-scenes and to give your voice on various matters. Unhappy with how something is done? Want more of something that you particularly enjoyed this year? Then please turn up and take part. This is of course also the time of the year where we sort committee positions for the next year. As is the case every year, helping hands on the committee are always appreciated; there's no end to the work that needs doing behind the scenes. If you are really not interested in all this, feel free to come along anyway for food and drinks.
Speaking of food, if you are going and want food, please look at the attached food menu and let me know your choice. I need to know by Wednesday 12th what you want.
Moving on to upcoming events, please note that there have been many changes made to May events since last month. Please check the list carefully.
Upcoming events:
May
Sunday 7th - National Squad, 12.00-16.00, York RI
Tuesday 16th - Deadline for Garrigil Weekend applications and payment
Wednesday 17th - Open Mat Training, 17.00-18.00. Grading, 18.00-19.00
Wednesday 17th - AGM, 20.00-onwards, Burton Street Foundation
Saturday 27th - National Squad, 12.00-16.00, Location TBC
June
Sunday 11th - British Open Competition, Sheffield
Friday-Monday 16th-19th - Garrigil Weekend
August
Thursday 17th - Pre-World Championships SAF Seminar, Kidbrooke, London
Friday 18th-Sunday 20th - WSAF World Championships, London
Please note:
- All events are in the dojo unless otherwise stated and details are subject to change.
- The SAUK Club Event for this weekend (6th May) has been postponed until a later date. Normal Saturday training resumes at the dojo
- The May grading and AGM have moved dates since last month
- The full details for the British Open are yet to be confirmed but it is likely to be at the EIS in Sheffield.
- The SAF (Shodokan Aikido Federation) seminar on Thursday 17th August will see some of the biggest names in shodokan aikido running a seminar in London. The list of people scheduled to run sessions during the day will include Tetsuro Nariyama (Shihan), Ryuichi Omori, Shinnosuke Sakai and Sekio Endo. If you are interested, please start seriously thinking about this now as you will probably have to sort accomodation in/near London for the night before to make it for the start of the seminar. I've heard August is a rather busy time for hotels/hostels...
- As a reminder, if you are interested in taking part in the WSAF World Championships as a competitor, you have to go down the national squad route of training and selection. If you cannot make it as a competitor, you are still welcome (and encouraged) to attend as a spectator. Once again, if you are thinking of attending (in whatever format), please start seriously thinking about it now
