FW: Short Fight Film Audition Invitation and squad training

Hello all,

Please see the forwarded email below.

Also note that SAUK Squad is this Saturday at the York railway institute, as normal. I will be away for about 11 days and will not have direct access to the internet or my emails, so please send any queries to James Ang in my absence.

Kind regards,

Kat 😊

Happy Halloween!

Dear Shodokan Aikido Sheffield,

I hope this email finds you well.

I am creating a Student short fight film and would like to invite any of your members interested in participating to an audition  at 12:30pm on Saturday 3rd November.

The film is unpaid, however travel expenses shall be covered and food provided on shoots and rehearsals. We shall be submitting our final 15 minute film to numerous festivals next summer, which shall provide vast exposure for the actors who participate.

Auditions are held at the Gymnasium, Pearson Building, Sheffield Hallam University Collegiate Campus, Collegiate Crescent, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, S10 2BP. This is a turning off of Ecclesall Road, by the A61 'Hanover Way'.

Unfortunately travel shall not be covered for auditions, however it will be for rehearsals and shoots if successful.

Please wear comfortable clothing as you shall be practising unarmed fight scenes.

We shall be filming these fight scenes after rehearsal time to keep as an audition tape to refer to later, therefore you shall be asked to sign a waiver.

Rehearsals are booked for Saturday 10th November 2pm-4pm and Wednesday 14th November from 3pm-5pm. Filming shall be on Saturday 17th. If you are successful and these dates clash with any of your other commitments, we are able to alter them so please consider these as provisional.

We are creating a 3 minute version containing fight scenes between now and December, then we shall be creating the 15 minute version from January until May. Cast used for this short film will also be used in the next one and those unsuccessful for the first film may be used in the second. Film dates for the longer film have not yet been confirmed.

We estimate these auditions to take roughly 2 hours, if you need to leave early for any reason please let us know before hand, so that we may try to work around your schedule, as we would prefer not to effect other commitments.

If you have any questions, please respond on Starnow or call me on 07507 353 300.

We look forward to meeting you!

Kindest Regards

Georgina Old
