Scott and Sento on front page in Sheffield!

Dear all,
Sento has finally made it to the front page of the Telegraph!

As you may know, we are bidding for a piece of land in Sheffield, the Woodbourn Stadium, to transform into a national centre of excellence for the martial arts. The bidding is only the first part, as we hope to be invited for interview and finally get the land for £1. Then we will need to apply for funding - from Sport England, possibly Lottery funding, banks, and sponsors such as East Asian businesses.

Scott has worked on the project for the past 15 years, and we have worked on this particular bid for the past month. He will deliver the documents by hand tomorrow morning, ahead of the 12 noon deadline.

If you are interested to know more about the project, or think that you will be able to know in a particular way, or know someone who can help us, do let us know!

At this particular stage of the project, funding is all important - so if you have experience of applying for funding to Sport England, Lottery funding, sponsorship, government regeneration grants etc - your help will be invaluable! Any other crazy and creative ideas to raise funds welcome too!

We also want to build up consultation - this means consultation with the local communities (Attercliffe, Darnall, Tinsley). Do you know people or community groups there? Can you introduce us and help arrange a meeting with them?

Finally, any help towards building enthusiasm for the project in the city and PR will be gratefully accepted!

If all goes well and we are invited to interview stage, we will organise a "mock presentation" ahead of the meeting, to which we will invite you to give us feedback and help us be as convincing as possible. More details will follow!

Everyone keep their fingers crossed!

Celine
