Aikido 5 week challenge

Dear all,
 
us ladies have today started a 5-week aikido conditioning challenge, and I thought it's be a shame for you guys not to benefit ;-)
 
So here it is, below and as attachment. I meant this originally as training towards the student nationals, but not all of us will take part. It is however an excellent way of starting the year!
 
And don't forget, we have kangeiko starting this Sunday 12 til 5pm!

Option 1: complete 3+ challenges per week over the next 5 weeks

Option 2: complete 5+ challenges per week over the next 5 weeks

Option 3: complete 8+ challenges per week over the next 5 weeks

 

Challenges

1.               100 bokuto cuts per day 3x per week

2.               100 hontae no tsukuri – atemi waza per day 3x per week

3.               5 uphill sprints per day 3x per week (10s long)

4.               30 breakfalls per day 3x per week (5 Left + 5 Right from maeotoshi, shomenate, gyakugamaeate)

5.               2 circuits of 20mn per week (e.g. bodyrock.tv)

6.               Exercises 3x per week (3x1mn each: core, push wall, tricep press ups, leg extensions)

7.               50 favourite technique drills 3x per week

8.               Complete kangeiko! 24 hours 5 morning sessions

9.               [Sheffielders] Attend 2 technical session per weekf +

·                 3 Mondays + 3 Thursdays – option 1

·                 4 Mondays + 4 Thursdays – option 2

·                 5 Mondays + 5 Thursdays – option 3

10.           REST! No training for 1 day per week (Not applicable to option 1) Go for a swim, a walk, go skating or tenpin bowling etc!



f Technical sessions in Sheffield are: Tuesday 6.30-8 or 8-9.30pm, Wednesday 5-7pm, Friday 5-6.30 or 6.30-8pm, Saturday 11.30-1pm for high grades only
