Aikido August newsletter

Dear sheffield city club aikidoka,

A few upcoming events:

In one month time, on saturday 31st august and sunday 1st september, nariyama shihan will be coming over to Leeds university shodokan aikido club. Leeds club will be celebrating their 5th year anniversary and have opened this rare event to us too!

For starters, nariyama shihan is the world technical director for shodokan aikido and is scott's instructor. He was Tomiki sensei principal student and became the guardian of tomiki sensei's system of training when tomiki sensei died is 1979. Nariyama sensei has just received his 9th dan.

I would encourage all of you not to miss an opportunity to train with a shodokan aikido master! This will be open from beginners onwards, so if you have friends who are interested in attending the seminars, as long as they are insured they will be very welcome to attend. Just arrange insurance with me before 19th august as I'll be away from 20th.

For logistical details, please contact leeds club founder and head instructor Justin Gallagher (copied in this email). Students will have a discounted entry but will need to purchase their ticket in advance, so please get in touch with justin as soon as possible!

---
On other news, our next grading will be held on tuesday 24th september from 6.30pm. Please advise me that you will be grading by giving me your membership books the previous week.

See you all on the mats very soon!

Celine
