Dear all,
we have waved goodbye to January and have lined up an awesome February full of aikido and activities to help you keep the winter blues at bay.
Read on for more news on Kendo, help us challenge the uni students, and join us for the awesome, the unique, the heart warming ...kangeiko!

Kendo - our next session with Colin McCurdy is this Wednesday 8am. £3!
City versus Uni challenge - the students celebrate the end of exams, the city members kick their b..., in all good spirit of course! Join us for a non aikido day of fun and games this Saturday (8/2) from 2pm at Burton Street Gym (http://www.burtonstreet.co.uk/); on the menu, basketball, volleyball, badminton, trampoline, table tennis etc! FREE and we'll have dinner together.
Kangeiko 16-22 Feb - this is our big event of the year. We'll have 36 hours of aikido available in 7 days, although we "only" challenge you to achieve 24 hours, and attend all 5 morning sessions.
This year, it's even more special as all funds raised go directly to our heating campaign. Sam and Chris have set up an amazing crowd funding website to raise as much as we can towards the cost of the Ambirad heating system; this doesn't come cheap at £4,000, but is so necessary now that the cold and damp are prevalent in the dojo. And it will definitely help with the junior aikido club we want to set up.
So please, visit, share and like our beautifully-crafted website:
<www.indiegogo.com/projects/heating-system-for-the-sheffield-kyogikan-dojo>
There are some great perks in exchange of your kind donations!
Scott has also produced the artwork for the campaign (see attached picture) and will sell limited edition prints: 24 prints priced at £24, to represent our 24/7 challenge! All proceeds will go to the heating campaign. Contact us!
Finally, the club now has a Twitter account: @SteelCityAikido, so follow us, and continue to like our Facebook page (also Steel City Aikido).
See below for more info on our website, and see you in the dojo very soon!
