Ryuichi Omori In The Dojo
First of all, in preparation for Ryuichi Omori's visit to the dojo, we are holding a dojo osoji (i.e. we are cleaning the dojo) tomorrow (Wednesday 7th) at 19.00 for about an hour. Yes I know, I don't want to do it either, but the dojo is not going to clean itself. It is also the least you can do if you are planning on going to some or all of Omori's classes, since the dojo has sorted out the financial side of this visit to make the classes free for Sheffield dojo members. So pretty please, turn up tomorrow to help if you can.
Moving on, the class times during Omori's visit follow a slightly different schedule to normal. Please look at the events list above carefully for the times. Normal Saturday training that week is also cancelled due to the national seminar taking place at Sheffield Hallam university.
As already mentioned, the cost of attending Omori's classes is free for Sheffield dojo members; simply pay your usual class fee. For non-Sheffield dojo members, the fee is £5/10 student/employed.
The seminars will be held in the Sports Hall of Sheffield Hallam University Pearson Building, Broomgrove Rd, Sheffield, S10 2BP. This is part of Sheffield Hallam Active (on google map: https://goo.gl/maps/SX2UjskZ7jv). The venue is not linked by tram, but there are plenty of buses to Ecclesall road nearby. Check out http://walkit.com/cities/sheffield/ and http://tsy.yorkshiretravel.net/journeyplanner/enterJourneyPlan.do for buses.
Registration for the event will start at 10am on Saturday. Seminars will finish 15.00-17.00. If you can, please turn up at 9am on Saturday to help set up the mats.
Fees for the seminars are:
£15 student / £20 employed including a Japanese bento lunch box for one day
£20 student / £30 employed including a Japanese bento lunch box for both days
Without lunch deduct £5 from the fee
On Saturday evening we will be going for a dinner buffet in the City centre. On the Sunday afternoon, there will be a kongodantaisen mini competition.
| docs.google.com On the 17th and 18th of September, SAUK will have the honour of running a national seminar led by Ryuichi Omori-sensei, 7th dan SAF, JAA. Register to attend and secure a bento box on either or both days using this form. The deadline for registration is 10th September. |
As always, feel free to message me if you have any questions/problems. I look forward to seeing you soon.
James
