Hi guys, here's the second newletter for the Sheffield Aikido Clubs! We're having a barbecue on Sunday on our allotment, rain? Pah! Wear comfy clothes so I can rope you in and make you earn your dinner ;-) Bring your good selves, what you want to chuck on the barbie, and drinks. I'll bring the bread, salads, and if I feel productive some puddings...Let me know if you're coming and I'll give you the directions. Garrigil Student boot camp - Fri 19-Mon 22 June on the menu: running up and down to Cross Fell in the Pennines, waterfall watching and misogi, sauna and jacuzzi and of course ... throwing yourself and other people on mats for 4 days. A couple of places left if you can get there by yourself. Get in touch if you want to come. Extra advanced session for people grading at Christmas + dan grades: Saturday 3rd July, 11-3. This replaces our normal session. Sheffield dojo. National seminar number 2 - Sunday 4 July (1-5pm), EIS, Sheffield We're hosting the second national seminar, which Scott will be leading. It's on our doorstep, so no excuses not to enjoy 4 hours of training in a great setting! SAUK Open competition, Dartford, London, Sat 17 July Our main competition of the year for all level, beginners to advanced, all welcome. Come and cheer for the clubs and do your best! Be there! Scorers, timekeepers and referees also needed! We will receive the entry forms very soon, so please let me or Secretary Chris know if you will come down and what event you want to take part in. National seminar number 3 - Sat + Sun 4-5 Sep, York Railway Institute This is what we know and love as the "Closed Event" seminar, refereeing course, friendly team competition. Still round the corner as it's a mere 2 minutes walk from York train station. Uni captains, please get a students team together! Weapons in Poland - Wed 8- Wed 15 Sep If you've been with us a couple of years, you'll know that we take to the hills / beaches / crags in late August. Well, we've wanted to extend our horizons! This year, we're heading off to a small village called Godziszewo, near Gdansk. Polish hospitality on a fruit farm next to a lake surrounded by forests, with great local food; as a bonus, flights to Gdansk are cheap. A cheap exotic holiday, enough said! More info, please email Maggy. London and Hove Festival - Sat-Sun 8-9 Oct This is a new event hosted in Brighton (well, Hove actually), with seminar and friendly competition.
